The claims, and what is behind them
The paragraph below is Amazon's own sales copy. We keep it quoted and set apart rather than folded into our text, because marketing prose and a description are not the same thing — and because what it leaves out is as useful as what it claims.
Little do-it-all — Mac mini packs pure power into a small, five-by-five-inch desktop as the M6 chip delivers next-level AI capabilities. Mac mini features 2.5Gb Ethernet with support for Wi-Fi 7* and Bluetooth 6, with ports on the front and back. M6 chip — Everything you do on Mac mini feels more responsive with the M6 chip and its next-generation CPU. Fly through AI workflows with up to 4.8x faster AI performance,* thanks to a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core, faster unified memory, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
The price, read properly
Amazon publishes a single figure for this configuration — $879.99 — and no separate list price beside it. That removes the usual anchor, and it is the honest reason you will find no percentage anywhere on this page. The specification has to justify the money on its own.
The listing carries an end date of 27 October 2026. Retailers pull pages early and without warning, so read that as the outer edge rather than a promise.
Against what else is on the shelf
The closest tracked listings in desktops are Apple 2026 Mac mini Desktop Computer with M6 chip at $1,069.99 (Amazon). It is the cheapest of the three, which is the strongest thing the price has going for it.
These are the nearest listings by price that our tracker currently holds, not a survey of the market. Anything not on sale at one of the six retailers we follow does not appear here at all.
The strongest reason to pick it is the M6 chip's AI acceleration, making it a small desktop with outsized performance.
